New Trailer Released for Game of Thrones – Season Six

The sixth season of Game of Thrones has been feeling like it cannot get here soon enough. In just under two weeks we will be able to get our fill of the original series based on George R.R. Martin’s best-selling ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ series of novels. Last night (4/10), the premiere episode of Game of Thrones season six debuted at the at the Chinese Theater in Hollywood, California. It shocked, amazed, and wowed the crowd in Los Angeles. Crew from the production were present, like showrunner David Benioff who spoke on the intense and demanding filming requirements for what is set to be the best season to date.

GoT2This season was a beast to make,” Benioff told the audience in attendance. “We shot 680 hours of dailies, which translates to 3.7 million feet of film. We shot in five different countries – Northern Ireland, Spain, Croatia, Iceland, and Canada. We employed 900 crewmembers in Belfast; 400 in Spain. We issued 140 script revisions. We two shot units a day for 22 weeks straight, three units a day for 10 weeks straight, four units for two weeks straight. And none of that would be possible without the greatest producing team on the planet.

This new season largely consists of original material not found in George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series, but also adapts some content from the upcoming sixth novel in the series, The Winds of Winter, as well as some material from the fourth and fifth books, A Feast for Crows and A Dance with Dragons.

Jon Snow is dead. Daenerys meets a strong man. Cersei sees her daughter again. See the latest trailer for the season six premiere of Game of Thrones.

Game of Thrones returns for its sixth season on HBO April 24th at 9PM.
