PopCultHQ’s Spoiler-Free Review Of Red Lance #1:

RL1Wow! I didn’t get even halfway into this issue before I had to take a pause because so much happens and it is exciting as hell. New parties enter the fold in this issue: the sinister MedryTech organization and a new mysterious superhero in Sonaru, as well as a street gang known as Horus Kings. Witness Cataclysm and Vycia formulating their next move whilst among the shadows. A covert op by Red Lance infiltrating MedryTech. It just keeps going!

Writer Bloom strengthens his already solid story by adding intrigue and espionage. You can almost foresee an inevitable three-way battle between Red Lance and MedryTech/Cataclysm. Gary Bloom certainly has a way with captivating the reader which will have me coming back for more.

For this second issue, illustrator Galih Triyunato took over duties and knocked it out of the park. The colors, shading, and sharpness are mesmerizing. I really liked how the blood was splattered and especially loved the look of the blur which Raceway creates. Fantastic!

Between the strong writing of Bloom, and partnering up with two exceptional artists, this Kickstater-backed creation will only continue to prosper and grow.
