One of the hottest comic book cover artists, especially for variant covers, is J. Scott Campbell.  His covers are highly sought after for their impressive form and his pin-ups are legendary.  Campbell is also the exclusive artist for variant covers produced by Midtown Comics.

Campbell got his break in the industry after submitting to a talent search ad found in the back of WildC.A.T.S #2 from Wildstorm Productions (Jim Lee’s publishing studio).  Lee was so impressed with Campbell’s work that he called the artist and offered him a job for Wildstorm’s series Stormwatch.  J. Scott soon thereafter collaborated for the series Gen 13 and was instrumental in creating the Danger Girl title.  Campbell produced work for Wildstorm, Image Comics, Aspen Comics and Devil’s Due Publishing (Thundercats).  At the Wizard World – Los Angeles 2006 comic convention, it was announced that Campbell had signed an exclusive deal with Marvel primarily to work on their Spider-Man series.  Campbell has been influenced by such great artists as Jim Lee, Todd McFarlane, Art Adams, and the animation of Disney.
