The Scoop on Netflix’s Next Marvel Miniseries “A.K.A. Jessica Jones”

A.K.A. Jessica Jones on Netflix

After the success of its miniseries Daredevil, Netflix is hoping to continue its success with their next Marvel production A.K.A. Jessica Jones.  From what we have seen from on the set pics and casting choices, it looks like there is no stopping this juggernaut.  This upcoming show will introduce and build up two more characters (Jessica Jones & Luke Cage) for the eventual Defenders team-up (along with Daredevil and Iron Fist).

Here is the show’s synopsis:

“Ever since her short-lived stint as a Super Hero ended in tragedy, Jessica Jones has been rebuilding her personal life and career as a hot-tempered, sardonic, badass private detective in Hell’s Kitchen, New York City. Plagued by self-loathing, and a wicked case of PTSD, Jessica battles demons from within and without, using her extraordinary abilities as an unlikely champion for those in need… especially if they’re willing to cut her a check.”

A.K.A. Jessica Jones is now a few months into filming in New York City.  The cast includes Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones), David Tennant (Kilgrave a.k.a. Purple Man), with Mike Colter (Luke Cage), Rachael Taylor (Patricia “Trish” Walker), and Carrie-Anne Moss (Harper)  From the photos shot on location, it appears we will be in for some great programming.  Personally, I am looking forward to David Tennant’s (Doctor Who) work. Are you looking forward to this standalone series?  Do you think the success of Daredevil will follow for A.K.A. Jessica Jones?  Let us know in the comments!

A.K.A. Jessica Jones has not been given a release date, but appears to be slated for a December 2015 release.
