1836 – Samuel Colt manufactures first pistol, 34-caliber “Texas” model
1907 – first radio broadcast of a musical composition aired
1908 – first ascent of Mt Erebus, Antarctica
1922 – “Annie Oakley” (Phoebe Ann Moses) broke all existing records for women’s trap shooting. She hit 98 out of 100 targets.
