PopCultHQ Review: I know the very first thing nay-sayers will harp upon is, ‘this is just Bloodshot meets Mad Max.’ To those people I say – ‘Shut up – strap in and enjoy the full-throttle insane action AND story in ‘The Analog Man’ that Mad Max WISHES it ultimately had!’ Not that Mad Max is a bad thing, mind you. It’s just that the Analog Man will take Valaint on a wild company-wide epic in the near-distant future no one saw coming!

Underneath the initial suped-up car, road warrior style, romp-ride through the dessert – that begins this brilliant tale from scribe Jeff Lemire, there is an actual epic story. What has happened to the Valiant Universe a futuristic Bloodshot tale where has to deal with the law in his own vigilante bloodshot style. Not the way you would think. 30 years in our future, Bloodshot is now in love with a woman named Magic and the keeper of a settleage of folks staying away from the goo-tech that rules this apocalyptic world. Bloodshot must make a dire trip for water through the dessert while keeping at bay the Shadowmen and the X-O looking robots that patrol the skies. All once respected symbols, now discrased by those that wear their looks now. Bloodshot finds himself in a situation of dire parrel dealing with the pshycotic Shadowmen, that is till an old familiar face lends a helping hand, or should I say blade.

Now let’s talk about the jaw-dropping artwork from Lewis LaRosa, who once again provides some of the best comic book artwork I’ve seen in my life! While fans are drooling over these panels after panels of superb colored art, nothing will prepare you for the Directors Cut of The Analog Man which will come out in February. I’m already calling the Directors Cut – one of 2016 MUST HAVE comics, as it shows Larosa’s work from his pencil/ink process and I just love to admire black and white comic art.

Many years from now, Los Angeles has become a post-apocalyptic wasteland and the once unstoppable killing machine known as BLOODSHOT has become THE ANALOG MAN. Hopelessly outdated, Bloodshot’s taken on a new role as the protector of a small town, eking out a subsistence existence with the great love of his life – Magic – and protecting a group of stragglers who’ve weathered the storm. But when a gang of marauders arrives, the settlement’s survival is threatened, and Bloodshot is forced to bring justice to the distorted and disjointed badlands of the Valiant Universe!

Blockbuster artist Lewis LaRosa joins New York Times best-selling writer Jeff Lemire for a gasoline-soaked storyline two years in the making right here for “THE ANALOG MAN”!
